Who belongs to the South Whidbey Historical Society?
People who have a passion for history… who understand the value of preserving what came before us so that future generations will have an understanding of life on South Whidbey through the decades… people who believe that that the past is important.
The South Whidbey Historical Society is made up of volunteers working to keep the museum in operation and recording and preserving the history of South Whidbey Island. We are always in need of those who can give time to the Society. Docents are always needed for the times when the museum is open.
Many of our docents have unique backgrounds who love to share in the history of the island with visitors. Consider volunteering for other activities like parking cars during the Island County Fair or as a Docent in one of our buildings on the Fairgrounds. Help out with grant writing, archiving, gardening, maintenance, membership, or archiving.
Our Board is always looking for individuals with fresh ideas to guide us into the future, consider joining the Board of Directors or becoming an officer.
