Charlie and his wife Gayle Cattron Pancerzewski, were benefactors for the digitizing of Island County Fair scrapbooks dating back to the 1950s, as well as donating to the upkeep of our two log cabins at the Whidbey Island Fairgrounds. Of recent interest to Charlie was research into possibly restoring the meat scale which had been a part of his wife’s aunt (May Bainter Frear) and uncle’s (Bob Frear’s) meat market on main street in Langley.
Charlie rarely missed a Board meeting, though it meant taking the ferry from his home in Mukilteo. He had a keen interest in sharing the history of South Whidbey, and he will be missed. Our condolences to his wife and daughter.
