For this Thanksgiving week comes a little clipping from the Oct. 5, 1933 Island County Times about a unique welcoming ‘vegetable shower’ for a new family (the Langdons) moving to Maxwelton. (Read the newspaper clipping attached.)
The last line is especially beautiful as this was written during the Great Depression:
“We are none of us wealthy, but having an abundance of harvest, are willing to share with our neighbors.”
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
